Miami One Retail Precinct

Miami One is a significant new development of mixed residential, commercial and retail space constructed at Miami on the beautiful Gold Coast. The precinct includes large floor plan retail space as well as boutique sized shops facing an open-air mall. Lewis & Love were engaged to create a brand for the development with the aim to increase its recognition and presence in the area during its pre-construction sales and after completion to build foot traffic, create brand recognition and value.

{ Connect }
The development’s brand was designed to connect with the marketplace through the use of a strong graphic symbol; an iconic oversized number one.

{ Communicate }
A font commonly used in FMCG creates a distinct retail message, whilst simple communicative graphics and a bold colour palette suggest an easy, yet exciting shopping experience. The centre’s enviable beachside location is embodied in the long stretched form of the numeral itself.

 { Cultivate }
The use of honest signage materials creates trust, whilst the slat structures themselves evoke feelings of safe and relaxed beachside environments. The glimpses of movement and sunlight between the slats, hint at the excitement the precinct contains.

From the powerful iconography to the integration of the industrial design with the architect's intent, Lewis & Love demonstrated a true understanding of all aspects of design.

Charmain Derlin - Senior Designer at DPA Architects

Industrial design of the extensive signage for the project included way-finding, building identity, apartment door  numbers, directory boards and tenant pylons signs. We also created the collateral, stationery and marketing signage. Miami One became a landmark building on the Gold Coast. It secured several big name anchor  tenants and has achieved a staggeringly low vacancy rate in the retail spaces. The value of this brand was recently demonstrated when the retail space was sold to a large shopping centre operator.
